Shameless Plug

Okay I normally would NOT do this but it's kind of a big deal so who cares.

BYUTV is broadcasting this weekend's football game LIVE--Nationwide to anyone who has the channel. This is a huge first for BYU and for the show I host & assistant produce--True Blue.

 

 True Blue aires every wednesday at 4:30 pm and

 8:00 pm AND True Blue: Special Edition (coverage of Bronco's press conference) aires live every Monday at 10 am.

This Friday, because BYU is airing the game vs. the Utah State Aggies Live , we also get to do a special half-time segment. We have some pretty big names hosting and I get to be the live reporter that they toss to. To some of you this may sound like blah blah blah football blah BUT hear me out. Tune into the game this Friday on BYUTV and help support BYU Broadcasting. (KJZZ will also be airing it in Utah but if you are outside of Utah you can watch it live on BYUTV!)

SO, points to remember: Football vs. Utah State this Friday at 6pm

   True Blue:Special Edition Mondays at 10 am

I ain't scared of no ghosts.

Let me first say that some may consider me strange. I LOVE Halloween and all things that come with it. The costumes, the decorations, the treats, the weather, and the haunted house/forest attractions! I have been looking at Halloween decorations since the beginning of August getting excited for the spooky holiday.

I am OBSESSED with collecting classic scary movies from the 1950's-70's (that's when they made them right). Even more important are the  cartoons that I collect for Halloween and Christmas; I won't tell you what or how many just because I don't want people to know how crazy I really am.  We had so many favorites as kids that really got us in the mood for the holidays. Since leaving home I have continued my Mom's tradition of making homemade sugar cookies and decorating them while watching creepy classic cartoons.

Previous roommates always seemed a little taken back at my dedication to decorating our apartment. Getting married just makes it easier because now I can decorate the entire place. (Have I mentioned that Matt does not share my appreciation for all things scary?) Which brings me to my point (finally). October 1st is WEDNESDAY. Guess who will be staying up to decorate at midnight on Tuesday :)

I have a feeling that there will be many posts dedicated to this wonderful time of year.

This is a pic from the summer but I was just thinking today about how lucky I am to be married to a FUN guy. Matt knows when to be serious, but I  thoroughly enjoy the fact that the majority of the time, he is playful and fun. 

 After traveling cross-country with him this summer in a cramped space for 3+ days (and then realizing I still really liked to be around him) I've come to the conclusion that I am quite lucky.

Hello.....

I need to blog. I just need to get it out of my system. I've tried to deny it, but it's been nagging at me for weeks.
Let me catch you up on my life. I am majoring in International Relations with a business minor. My wife is still super hot, she actually has her own TV show and she's just recently graduated, so she's pretty much awesome. I'm also still awesome. BYU is going to a BCS game. The Red Sox are going to win the World Series. My brother on a mission is an absolute stud, I can't wait for him to get home. My sister-in-law Megan just got out to BYU. I like her cuz she laughs at all my jokes. I mean, she thinks I'm hilarious. haha and she feeds me with her dining+. I am playing intramural football and softball in hopes of earning a coveted Intramural Championship T-Shirt. My fantasy baseball team is in first place with two weeks to go. I am Andy Bernard from the office, and I will be him for Halloween this year. And I don't know how to add pictures to my blog so it's just words. I also don't know how to end this post so I'll just end it now....

My best friend, Abdias, is a Marine and has been since we graduated High School. Afraid of what it involved, I did my best to dissuade him from joining but he did anyway and has been to deployed to the middle East 4 times. He extended  his "term"  because he felt that he owed it to his Battalion/Combat team to bring experience to what was inevitably going to be a 'young group'. 

I have gained so much respect and appreciation for the Marines and it has truly opened my eyes to the necessity of armed forces. So many are quick to  be anti-war and in-turn they become anti-troops. Our troops want peace more than anyone. 

 9/11 should be a day of remembrance and today I pray for the families of all who lost, and the families & friends of all who are still in fear of losing. 

Nat'l Grandparents Day

Happy Grandparent's Day! 

Many of you may not be aware but this is an actual holiday, and I wanted to take the opportunity to write a little about my exceptionally awesome Grandparents.

Most people are lucky to have fun parents, let alone grandparents.

I am lucky to have both.

Growing up G&G Lott were just across town and I spent much of my childhood at their place. We had so many sleepovers, adventures in the alley, birthday parties, and big Sunday dinners with them. They were the central spot for all the Cousins to get together and play. Grandpa always had exciting stories and memories to share, Grandma was always playing classical tunes on the piano and always told great bedtime stories. 

I will always remember Grandpa taking Grandma by the hand when Lawrence Welk would come on, and then proceed to waltz her around the living room.

Growing up, G&G Stauffer were the "vacation of choice" when they lived in California. We got to play in their magical sandbox, pick fresh lemons and persimmons,  sit on the bench in Grandpa's (award-winning) rose garden and eat treats that Grandma would smuggle outside for us. Since then they moved to Utah and they're now the "home away from home" for my sisters and I when the college life gets mundane. I used to spend the night with them and then get up at 5 am to go play basketball with my Grandpa and his ward buddies. It was weird to be the only girl sometimes but WHO can say they've played serious basketball games with their grandpa??!! He's still got it for sure :) 

I love you all so much and think you are the best grandparents anyone could ask for. Not only have you cared for us grandkids,  you have been such great examples of successful HAPPY marriages and I am so grateful for ALL that you've done for me.
