Because it has been 2 years..

I want to recap a few of the wonderful memories I've had during my 2nd year of marriage to Mr. Cook.

When we were dating, it was so easy to have a good time together. Luckily, it still is. Marriage is tough, i'll be the first to admit that. But it helps when you're married to Matt Cook.

Wow. WAY too much stuff to update.

I guess the following post is what happens when you are gone for a month traveling coast to coast! From visiting my family in Washington , to Matt's Family in New Hampshire, to Antioni's wedding in LA, we have been EVERYWHERE this month. I am so glad we are home, but it was a blast!

After spending some time in my hometown, we went to the Oregon coast (family tradition) and spent some great days bodysurfing, playing whiffle ball, laying out and searching for starfish.

Next we headed to Seattle so that Matt and Alex could experience Safeco Field in all it's greatness and get a taste of Seattle.

We left from Seattle at 6am the next morning to fly to Boston to see all the Cook boys reunited!
We had an awesome week with the Cooks, bowling, going to the batting cages, movies, playing v-ball in the yard and playing in the pool. I somehow never took a picture of our adorable nephew and brand new little niece Eliza but we loved spending time with them as well!

To celebrate our 2 year anniversary, Matt and I spent the day in Boston together hitting up some of our favorite spots from last summer. And for the record I asked Matt to grow a beard and I loved it:)

McCormick and Schmicks was just as delicious as I remembered.

At a movie theater that night I noticed this unique vending center in the ladies room. If you can't see, the 5 items are as follows, and I quote, "Lower back tattoos, Ice drops breath drops, Sour drops, tampons, and Glow sticks." WHAT!? Since when did they sell breath drops, fake tattoos and glow sticks in a bathroom?? Wow.
Next we flew from Boston to LA for Antioni Parkers wedding. Antioni is a good friend of mine and Matt's from freshman year. I still can't believe we had so many mutual friends freshman year and yet never met. It's probably better that way, we both had our own adventures going on then:)

Our wonderful friend Nate picked us up from the airport and took us straight to City Walk at Universal Studios to meet up with Mike and Angela and Ryan.

The lovely bride and groom! Heather was absolutely stunning, and Antioni was just beaming all day, it was a wonderful wedding.

In between the wedding and reception we spent some time on the Santa Monica Pier.
Back at the reception that night, Ryan found Heather's car (or so we thought) and the boys went to town decorating it.

After they finished and we all went back inside, we found out that it was the WRONG car! Hahaha! The family who owned the car was very cool about it and just laughed it off. Matt gave them some money for a car wash and we all went back inside and had a great time dancing the night away.

Now we are back and have spent the past week getting Matt's brothers situated here in Provo. It's going to be so fun having Nate and Tyler around this year, family dinners at our place keep getting bigger and we love it!

58th Anniversary!

I am so excited to celebrate my my Grandparents 58th wedding anniversary and my Grandfathers 80th birthday! They were my home away from home while I was in college and still are. Up until a couple years ago I would get up at 5:30am on some Thursdays to play basketball with my grandpa and the men in his ward. He's in his 70's and can STILL play. That is undeniably impressive. The picture below reminds me a lot of my dad. I love that I have pictures of my grandparents when they were my age.

58 years of marriage starting August 6, 1951. My grandpa got home from his mission

July 4th, and they were married a month later! However, Grandma has plenty of

stories of all the boys she dated while waiting for her true love to get home. They were

high school sweethearts and have had such an exciting life; serving in the army, traveling the world when my Grandpa worked for Bechtel, and raising my dad & his brother and sister. We are so lucky to have such loving, fun, and wise grandparents

Some of my favorite moments this summer...

Have been with these two darling babies:) I know it's usually only mom's who post videos of their kids on their blogs, but these are two moments with Lindsey and Ashton that I love and don't want to forget. They probably won't be funny to others but they make me smile and so, since it's my blog, here they are.

I'm so lucky to live so close to my cousins and their beautiful babies. I have had the best time this summer watching Linds & Ashton grow and learn and play. Never have I been so attached! I really hope that when Matt and I have our own, they are as fun as these two.

summertime

I love the hot easy days and long warm nights of summer. Lately we have been filling them full of adventures and it has been wonderful. I just can't believe it's already August, I hope these next busy weeks are fun but s-l-o-w.

Pioneer Day weekend we went camping with the Swapps up by Bald Mountain. I love camping and with these two, we always have fun no matter what's on

the agenda.

We asked the camp supervisor the next morning about good hikes and we ended up on

top of Bald Mountain. It was a tough hike! I think we were kind of expecting a leisurely

hike but we ended up charging the mountain and the view was definitely worth it.

That night we went with Stacie and Alex to a neighborhood 24th celebration and I was very impressed with the fireworks. Growing up on an Indian reservation my expectations for fireworks are pretty high :)

Saturday was a blast, we went to the Farmer's Market in Provo with Shane, Truly and the twins. I can't get enough of them. They are the prettiest, most entertaining babies I know. Whenever I'm with Truly walking them around, they get stopped at least 5 times with people asking questions or even wanting to take pictures! It's pretty fun to be a part of their entourage haha. This summer has been so fun for me because I've been able to be with them for part of every week and watch them grow and learn. Even though I start my real job this month, they can expect me knocking on their door often.

This week my family is in town for my Grandpa's 80th birthday and my Grandparents 58th wedding anniversary! Talk about a party, more to come on that...
