Name that song...
Life is good here in CA. Matt and I are really trying to get out and make the most of our time and our location. Over the past few weeks we've done a lot. Not pictured--our trip to Arroyo Seco to do an upstream river hike and some cliff jumping. I did it earlier this summer with Ashley Swapp and her family & it was a great adventure so I had to take Matt. Plus I think I'm part fish. I could spend all day in a river, lake, ocean, whatever. Love it.
Matt had never been to Santa Cruz and he had a half day a couple weeks ago so we enjoyed a crowd free boardwalk and beach.
My Aunt Shelley has several friends who are big Cal-Berkeley Alum and she got us tickets to a Cal Bears/Colorado Buffaloes football game. I loved Berkeley. If you've ever seen the movie The Graduate, there are some landmark places downtown that look almost exactly the same today. I made Matt watch it when we got home. If nothing else he enjoyed the Simon & Garfunkel soundtrack ha.
I didn't realize how spoiled we were at LaVell Edwards stadium. The Cal stadium had no shade anywhere, benches only, and rows upon rows of outhouses. Another reason to appreciate the 'Y' I guess.

Today we had Stake Conference for our Church at the Oakland Stake Center which is right on the Temple grounds. We've been at least once a month since we moved here and it's a great way to step out of the 'city feel'. The grounds are beautiful and the view (on a day without fog) is breathtaking. Plus it's where my Dad proposed to my Mom :)
We thought ahead and packed a lunch so we wouldn't feel the need to rush home. We hung around, ate, and then drove to one of my very favorite places out here, Tilden Park. It is just beautiful, and so serene. Probably not as serene as it could be when your husband won't smile normal for a picture. Oh well, that is nothing new:)
On to the next adventure.
